What is SigmaChat?

SigmaChat is a private, invite-only group chat. There are no public servers and no way to find a board you were not invited to. It runs in the browser, and you sign in with Google or with an email address and password.

Boards

Conversations happen in boards. Every board has its own members, its own settings, and its own moderation. Messages support markdown, replies, reactions, GIFs, images, files, video, audio, and polls.

Announcements is a special board the whole community is in. It is read-mostly: most people can react but not post, and the member list is not visible there.

DMs and groups

You can message anyone you share a board with. DMs live in their own section of the sidebar, under the boards. Groups work the same way and hold up to ten people.

Where things are

• The sidebar lists your boards, then your DMs.
• The gear at the bottom of the sidebar opens Settings.
• The board name at the top opens its About panel, with the topic and guidelines.
• The member list toggles with the button in the board header, or Alt+M.
